The project, initiated by local organisations, Friends of Maxwell Park and The Pollokshields Burgh Hall, explores the possibility of finding a new, community based use for the now redundant Council depot area in the park. The emerging building project includes a multi-use community space, café / events space, toilet facilities for building and park users along with supporting accommodation; all arranged around a sheltered central courtyard.

Landscaping is also a key feature where proposals include for community allotments and a re-establishment of a closed in park entrance to improve the parks permeability.

The pavilion will be a timber framed building clad with dark stained timber cladding and a black slate roof. It features extensive glazing to maximise connection with the park, and is positioned on the edge of the site to create active frontages to the park edge and the surrounding streets.
