Our former studio, housed in a mock Victorian conservatory, offered the practice an opportunity to make a truly unique working environment, whilst also dealing with practical considerations such as glare, lighting and storage. The resulting structure, carefully positioned within the existing conservatory, provides enclosure and with it, just the right amount of daylight for a comfortable working environment all year round. Views out into the garden and adjacent Maxwell Park are maximised.

The studio hosted a great diversity of activities over the last few years. In 2019, we took part in the Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival and invited visitors to make origami decorations with us. Over the warm Summer days, we enjoyed project reviews and parties in the garden. As advocates for model making being integral part of the design process, the studio has regularly transformed into a model making workshop, photo studio and exhibition space. This project was a real hands on collaboration within the practice, with everyone contributing in terms of both the design and finishing of the structure itself - team O’DB couldn’t be more delighted with space and the joy and comfort it has given us.
