304 new homes at the Govan Graving Docks – design process We recently submitted the residential planning application for the Govan Graving Docks and are excited to share the design process behind the proposals for 304 new homes. Part of the site wide vision, this is a major milestone for our client, project team, Govan, Glasgow, and the culmination of years of engagement, debate, design and technical work on this highly complex and important heritage site. Situated along the southern edge of the site, the building designs are sensitive to the heritage context of the Docks, and resilient to the environmental conditions. The proposals invite other exciting and compatible uses, which will sit alongside the new homes, as well as creating new connections across and through the site to create a truly mixed-use community. The design process has greatly benefitted from the use of physical modelling and iterative testing of massing options within the surrounding context. These models were used to communicate ideas and gather feedback at consultation events and meetings with key stakeholders including Historic Environment Scotland and SEPA. @rankinfraserlandscapearch @iceniprojects @atelier_ten Image 1: @axsonoffice.co.uk
