Booker Diamond 2/3 We are delighted to confirm a Planning Submission for a new build office development for the use of Brooker Diamond Chartered Fire Engineers alongside RCI Technical Services based in Cumbernauld. Set against the backdrop of Luggiebank Wood Nature Reserve the site provides the opportunity to capture beautiful woodland views to the East and to the South. To meet the sustainability aspirations of the client the site will be landscaped to include a SuDS pond as well as a Solar Farm and Wind Turbine. A glulam primary structure creates he ‘L’ shaped proposal which nestles into the woodland. The dark timber clad spine accommodates Brooker Diamond with the gable end overlooking the south and long elevation benefitting from the views to the east. The recycled polycarbonate clad portion of the building accommodates RCI. The material can be applied with membrane and insulation behind to give an external finish that reflects the surroundings to enhance the building's ability to integrate within its environment. It can also be applied direct to the glulam superstructure for a translucent finish on the uninsulated warehouse portion allowing this portion of the building to become a beacon when lit at night as a method of wayfinding from Lenziemill Road.
