West Hendon Park Post 2/3 We recently produced designs for a major redevelopment of West Hendon Playing fields in North London collaborating with @rankinfraserlandscapearch. Our contribution focusses on a regeneration of an existing park building, currently housing a bowling club and nursery – this was developed to sit within the new and extensive proposed landscaping masterplan. We intend to retain the existing bowling club buildings superstructure, reducing carbon impact through considered demolition and removal of material kept to a minimum. The structure will then be wrapped in a forest of timber columns which will in turn establish a direct dialogue with the surrounding trees, blurring the boundaries between the building and its surroundings, embedding its position in the park.
