Sprigg Sauchiehall Street Post 3/3 We are delighted that our Sprigg project in Glasgow won the Small Works and the Wood for Good Awards at the @glasgowinstituteofarchitects Design Awards last Friday. Congratulations to our Client @wearesprigg, McNee Building Services and also @designengworkshop. The designs reflect the design team’s personal connections to Glasgow School of Art and affection for Mackintosh, and our intention to make a positive contribution to this area - which has suffered after two recent school fires and ongoing tumult - by harking back to the area’s important history. The emphasis on craft and considered proportion of every design move and detail is at the heart of the project and directly influenced by Mackintosh’s work and approach. Generally, the project being a retrofit and not a new build is of great importance to our work at O’DonnellBrown, to reuse what we can and reimagine with demolition only being a last resort.
