Govan Graving Docks Post 2/3 Bringing Historic Ships Back to the Clyde Dock No1 will be reopened as a working dry dock again for the first time in more than 40 years. As well as providing the potential for local jobs and training opportunities, it is hoped the refurbished dry dock will eventually become a popular visitor attraction. Highland Lane An exciting, raised pedestrian walkway, or ‘urban pier’, will see the reinstatement of the historic Highland Lane, an old fording route from Govan Road to the River Clyde. This will not only enhance links to the River Clyde, but also create opportunities for affordable workspaces.
