Tarbet Tourism Infrastructure Post 2/3 We are delighted to confirm a Planning Submission for a series of new buildings and structures as part of a wider Tourist Infrastructure Masterplan located upon the banks of Loch Lomond on behalf of our client Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park @lomondtrossachs , and Masterplan Design Lead, Landscape Architects LUC @lucimagery. The new café offers visitors the chance to have refreshments and a break from their travels within the warmth of the café’s timber interior which frames and prioritises the views across the site, the loch and onward to Ben Lomond. The cafe interior has been designed with a limited but carefully selected palette of materials to create a warm and inviting space. Whitewashed vertical timber cladding is proposed to the areas of solid wall as a contemporary and low embodied carbon reference to the white wet dashed render of the existing building. Making reference to local vernacular of this rural Scottish setting, the design proposes a galvanised corrugated metal roof often seen across the Scottish Highlands and Islands.
