Maxwell Park Pavilion Post 2/3 The new 165m² single-storey building comprises a multi-use community space which will be used for local meetings, training and classes, along with a café/events space, office, kitchen facilities and toilets for building and park users, all arranged around a sheltered central courtyard. Looking beyond the site boundary, we created a building which makes new connections, frames existing views and takes inspiration from the landscape and historic architecture. The landscape design for the site includes new community sport facilities and the reopening of the entrance on the south eastern corner to improve the park’s permeability. The pavilion will be a timber framed building clad with dark stained timber cladding and a black slate roof. It features extensive glazing to maximise connection with the park, and is positioned on the edge of the site to create active frontages to the park edge and the surrounding streets. @designengworkshop #odonnellbrownarchitects #architect #architecture #communityarchitecture #community #design #glasgow #maxwellpark #pollokshields #timber #cafe #cafedesign #coffee #coffeedesign #wellbeing
