Govan Graving Docks: Land Unlocked Earlier in June, we hosted a walk around the Govan Graving Docks as part of @archifringe. Cherished as one of the few remaining sites which speaks of Glasgow’s heroic industrial past, the Docks regeneration is a complex process, demanding a new vision which will benefit Govan’s community, while preserving Glasgow’s industrial heritage. We were joined by Peter Richardson from ZM Architecture, who are the Conservation Architects for the project. With expertise and passion, he revealed the intricacies of the Docks' operation in bygone years and presented the heritage repair and conservation strategy for preserving Glasgow's industrial heritage. Jennifer O’Donnell and Dana Cherepkova from O’DonnellBrown shared their insights on how the community engagement process is shaping the regeneration proposals for the Docks, ensuring a positive impact on the Govan community.
