New homes around Basin – design process The form of the new buildings around the Basin responds to the site geometry, creating a strong street frontage along Clydebrae Street, and new frontage to the west, with a new landmark villa block aligning with Dock 2. A new active travel route along the basin edge, joining the new public square with commercial units at the heart of the Govan Graving Docks site, will provide key pedestrian and cycle routes through the site. Highland Lane will reconnect the site to the river and is a key part of the wider site vision. Residential building forms re-reinforce key routes and provide active frontages overlooking them.
