Pipe Factory Post 1/3 We are excited to announce our latest project at the practice! O’DonnellBrown, in collaboration with @loadermonteith, has won the commission to refurbish The Pipe Factory @thepipefactoryglasgow , an iconic landmark in Glasgow's Barras Market. This former factory holds a special place in the city's industrial heritage, and we couldn't be more honored to be a part of its transformation. Working closely with Friends of The Pipe Factory (FoTPF), a community interest company (CIC), our goal is to restore, protect, and reimagine this beautiful Grade B-listed brick building that once produced clay smoking pipes. The FoTPF, dedicated to the long-term benefit of three key communities, including young people from marginalized backgrounds, the local community of Calton and the Barras, as well as early-career artists, architects, and designers, is leading this inspiring initiative. As part of our appointment, O'DonnellBrown will be responsible for securing planning and listed building consent, developing a retrofit scheme, and overseeing the entire process until completion. We are proud to collaborate with Loader Monteith, a renowned Glasgow-based conservation architect and a signatory of Heritage Declares. Together, we aim create a scheme that not only enhances the building's environmental performance but also preserves its rich heritage for generations to come. Stay tuned for updates as we embark on this remarkable journey of revitalising The Pipe Factory! #odonnellbrownarchitects #odonnellbrown #pipefactory #glasgow #loadermontieth #conservation #retrofit #heritage #barras #architecture #design #glasgowarchitects #calton #community
