New public spaces and connections across the Clyde The proposed Govan Graving Docks residential developments create and define a new series of public spaces along the Clyde. This will enhance connectivity and accessibility for the public, bringing activity to and celebrating the Category A listed docks. At the heart of the site, a new public square will act as a gateway to Highland Lane, the Graving Docks, and the wider area. New homes and ground-floor commercial spaces framing the new square together with a new cycle and pedestrian route passing through the square will animate the street and create active frontages. Highland Lane will offer a new north-to-south connection to the riverside park and the Pumphouse esplanade. Additional cycle and pedestrian links to Napier Drive in the west, leading to the new bridge across the river to Partick, and another bridge to the Science Centre in the east will further open up to the public currently inaccessible stretches of the riverside.
