2023: Built Heritage We have enjoyed working on a range of project typologies throughout 2023 and specifically our growing list of built heritage projects. O’DonnellBrown in collaboration with White Arkitekter were selected at the winners of the The Crichton Project @riasmembership competition in January, a project which proposes the retrofit of a former laundry building within the heritage setting of The Crichton Estate @thecrichtontrust in Dumfries. Soon after, we were selected as the project architects to take forward designs for the B Listed @thepipefactoryglasgow in the Barra’s Market, Glasgow, a project that we are enjoying developing in collaboration with conservation architects @loadermonteith. Also, in Glasgow’s east end we completed the ‘defurb’ of New Olympia House for @clydegatewayglasgow which has recently been shortlisted in the @scottishpropertyawards Regeneration Project of The Year. We have also enjoyed community focussed heritage projects of varying scales. Working with the Prestwick Civic Pride Partnership we have produced conservation management plans in collaboration with Fiona Sinclair Architect for the A listed Salt Pan Houses and B listed Freemans Hall and in Govan we ended the year by submitting a planning application for the redevelopment of the A listed Goven Graving Docks, a project which will provide new homes, heritage park, and the reinstatement of a working dry dock. We look forward to furthering our experience in this sector throughout 2024.
