Through our work, we aim to revitalise former industrial land and long-term gap sites, reconnecting communities. Here are a few of our previous development feasibility studies striving to create: 1. Active frontages and defined street edge A well-defined building frontage repairs the existing street edge blending the new development with the surrounding context. We use Designing Street principles, such as street facing front doors and gardens, to create a safe and desirable street environment. 2. Growing communities Our designs include a mix of terraced housing and flatted blocks providing diverse house types that foster resilient communities and encourage social mobility. 3. Unique character and identity Building designs respond to the site’s topography, orientation, and context, creating diverse and engaging spaces. For example, roof designed are modelled to maximise natural light, and buildings’ forms, heights, and architectural details are designed to a human scale and surrounding context to create legible street and place hierarchies and frame city views. 4. Connected open space and active travel We aim to provide connectivity though the site, and to wider amenities encouraging community integration and resilience. We carefully design streets, landscaped courtyards and parking spaces in wat that prevents cars from dominating and encourages walking, cycling, and social interaction. #odonnellbrownarchitects #odonnellbrown #housing #scotland #glasgow #glasgowarchitects #regeneration #community #architecturaldrawing #drawing #sketch #masterplan #architecture #design #homes #placemaking
