New Olympia House, a ‘defurb’ of a former 1927 Salvation Army Hall into workspace, was honored with two awards at last week’s @architectsjournal Retrofit & Reuse Awards: Retrofit of the Year and Positive Addition (up to £5 million). What a fantastic recognition of our work to repair and adapt existing buildings. The AJ team commended the project as ‘a model for how a carefully judged yet bold retrofit and intervention can give a new lease of life to unused inner-city buildings, setting a precedent for how to innovatively fill gaps in the streetscape’.
